Concept ‘Trash the Dress’
If you’re game enough to trash your beautiful wedding dress… let us get involved! I’m sure you’ve seen trash the dress photoshoots before and maybe even the odd trash the dress film but I guarantee you haven’t seen one like this!
Shawn and Adam are husband and wife, best friends, business partners and above all else adventurers! They live the kind of life that personally inspires Shaun and I. Every morning they’re up at the crack of dawn, they gulp down a good cup of coffee (they are huge coffee enthusiasts which I’ve often wondered if that’s a contributing factor to Shawn’s crazy energy) and then, whilst most of us are still fast asleep, they’re in the ocean catching some waves and capturing incredible underwater photographs.
So being the loved up adventurers that they are, they were more than willing to star in our concept trash the dress film…
If you haven’t already guessed by now, we love stories… and most of all, we love telling stories. So if we’re completely honest, a standard trash the dress shoot (rolling around on the beach or whatnot) doesn’t really appeal to us. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong with that, in fact doing just that makes for gorgeous photographs, but because there’s no story involved it doesn’t really translate all that well to video. We love to push ourselves to do things a bit differently and at the same time we want to inspire couples who are willing to trash their wedding get-up to do so in a unique and fun way (with us being there to film it of course). So with Shawn and Adam’s fun-loving nature in mind, we decided on a story that would suit them perfectly… the story of an elopement.
All four of us, TJ (yes I did just refer to myself in the 3rd person), Adam and the two Shau/wn’s (which wasn’t confusing at all) share a fondness for Byron Bay so we decided to shoot the film there… and boy did it deliver on locations. We wanted to incorporate all the usual elements of a wedding day… the white dress, the rings, the flowers, the cake and the first dance… but in a super low-key and casual “let’s elope together, just us and our dogs” kind of way (oh yeah we forgot to mention that they are maaaad for dogs… another reason we love these guys).
You know what… you should just watch it now, before we give too much away. Oh! And remember we said how important music is to us? Well we think you’ll agree that we chose a pretty rad song for this film.
