Happy New Year! Now Go Eat Cake!
With social media being inundated with the usual ‘New Year, New Me’ posts usually accompanied with goals to lose weight, get fit, stop eating carbs and the like, we’re going to sound a bit out of place… but that’s how we like it.
Our goal for 2015 is to be as content, as happy, as successful, as passionate, as full of love and to be as grateful as we were throughout 2014. That’s it. If we can match 2014 on all of those fronts then 2015 is going to be equally as incredible and that will most certainly do us!
2014 was full of good luck for us (winning $40,000) which unfortunately can’t be planned for the coming year, but it was also full of hard work, determination and passion and they were the 3 things that really made the year such a success, and we can definitely keep those up!
Our contentment from 2014 will overflow into 2015 and the year after that and the year after that because as long as we have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, loving friends and family, a job that we absolutely love, our health and most importantly, each other, we are pretty damn lucky.
Don’t get me wrong, I could definitely do with losing some weight, we should both probably cut out eating desert after every bleedin’ meal and we could definitely exercise more (at all would be good) but mentally we couldn’t be happier and happiness leads to the healthiest and most fulfilled life… without a doubt.
We made many newly married couples very happy as we captured on film no doubt their happiest day of 2014, their wedding, so that they can now relive that memory over and over again and share that happiness with their loved ones (from their elderly grandparents that sadly may not have long left, to new, chubby, girgling bundles of joy that may be joining them in the near future) and it has been incredibly rewarding! We absolutely cannot wait to make as many couples as happy this year.
Focus on what was great about 2014 rather than what could have been better, focus on how great a person you were – did you hold doors open for people, did you make someone smile every single day, did you help out a friend or even a stranger, did you love your family and friends whole-heartedly, did you put someone else’s needs ahead of your own at least once, and did you spend time doing something you love? If you did then you really don’t need to focus on changing the way you look because these actions make you a much more beautiful person to be around than any kind of diet and exercise regime could.
This all sounds pretty heavy now but every single couple we’ve filmed have been amazing people, interesting, vibrant and in love and everyone of our friends and family are warm, loving and grateful for life so personally we hope that none of you change in 2015, not one little bit!
Now go eat that carb-filled, sugar-loaded cake and do it with a big smile on your face!
