Nicolette & Andrew, Mavis’ Kitchen

I’ve never been overwhelmed by a huge over-the-top proposal story myself… don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the effort and thought put into it by the groom-to-be, but personally romance to me are the little things that catch you unaware on a seemingly normal day; love notes for no reason, surprise sticky notes in your packed lunch… that kind of thing. So the story of Andrew’s proposal to Nicolette is the most romantic I’ve heard yet… listen to Nicolette’s version of events and you’ll see what I mean.

Andy and Nicci were married at Mavis’ Kitchen at the base of Mount Warning which was the perfect choice (and not a coincidence) as their first date was a hike up Mount Warning… yes I know, no dinner and a movie for this energetic couple that’s for sure!

Mavis’ Kitchen is gorgeous, it’s quaint and inviting yet can accommodate a big wedding, it’s romantic yet quirky and we can’t help but love a good rustic country barn like Mavis’.

There were a lot of things we loved about this wedding, Byron Bay’s Magic Bus transport for the guests, the gorgeous styling, Nicolette’s story-telling, Andrew’s shyness and Andrew’s son cheekiness all make it into our list of favourite things but another thing we loved was working alongside our good friend Richard Windeyer (Photography) who is always so much fun and makes everyone around him feel so at ease in front of the cameras.

The music we chose for this film is a bit different to our usual folk style but we felt that it reflects the bride and groom and the tone of their wedding perfectly and after all reflecting each couple with a completely honest approach is what we aim for with every one of our unique wedding videos.
